Amisa, in a big government primary school in Dar es Salaam, considered the water facilities in her school to be okay, in comparison to the situation in Third World countries, and the water to be ‘safe, I think’. Similarly, Genefa appraised the water and sanitary facilities to be ‘okay; very nice’ in her first school with few pupils. On the other hand, Hanifa was slightly concerned about the purity of the water, since they were not given any information on it:

If you feel thirst, you rush to a tap, you open it, you put your mouth there and you drink; there’s no glasses, no cups, no whatever, and it was not as clean as maybe boiled water. It was direct from the tap.
